Mickey’s Memorial Golf Tournament

June is fast approaching and it is time again for the annual Mickey’s Memorial Golf Tournament. As you know, this is our major effort to raise funds to increase the Fisher Tull Endowed Scholarship Fund which benefits incoming freshmen to the School of Music at Sam Houston State University.
Each September, the studio faculty of the wind and string departments nominate students whom they feel are deserving of special recognition because of their musicianship and their potential to lead their fellow students. During an audition/interview a scholarship recipient is selected and announced at the Faculty Gala concert later in the month. The students selected have always lived up to their potential. They have exemplified the qualities of musicianship and leadership that marked the life of Fisher Tull.
Your generosity in the past has put the fund in a place that can guarantee a sizable award to an incoming freshman each year. But what if we could help two, or even three students every year? We have all read and perhaps even experienced how the cost of tuition has risen over the past decade. The Fund endeavors to relieve some of that financial burden.
Please join us and the Tull family for the 12th annual Mickey’s Memorial Golf Tournament on June 15, 2007 for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. I promise that you will have fun, see friends, and help us raise funds that will help students-just as you once were!
