Friends of Music are the extended family for our students providing encouragement, opportunity and help through their generosity and profound love of music. Your financial support is used for a wide variety of important projects ranging from scholarships to equipment purchases, special events to student/faculty travel and more. As a Friend of Music, you will enjoy benefits throughout the entire concert season, including free concert recordings and mailings detailing concerts, recitals and special events presented by the School of Music. Sam Houston State University is a state-assisted, rather than a state-supported, institution. The School of Music receives from state funds only a small portion of the financial support required to operate a music program. The remainder is dependent upon departmental fund-raising initiatives, grant monies, and the generous support of music lovers such as you. If a company that provides matching funds for cash contributions employs you or your spouse, don’t forget to take advantage of this opportunity to raise your membership category. |
